Pharmaceutically produced CBD

* <10 ppm THC

For people who should not take THC

While THC can cause a feeling of being “high”, memory loss, slowed response times, and issues with coordination resulting in an impaired ability to drive, CBD is not known to cause any of these side effects. Young people under the age of 25 may also experience negative psychiatric, cognitive, or other effects from THC because their brains are still developing(1). Elderly patients frequently have various conditions that impact coordination or cognition, both of which may lead to accidents or mishaps when the individual has consumed THC. This is why we believe having a THC-free* CBD option such as Cortalex™ is so important.

Cortalex™ is available exclusively online at Medical Cannabis by Shoppers.

What is Cortalex™?

What is CBD and how is it different from THC?

The proper name for CBD is cannabidiol. CBD and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are chemical compounds known as cannabinoids.

Both CBD and THC affect how different parts of the body communicate with each other. Specifically, THC acts on receptors throughout the body, particularly the brain, which affect brain activity. This is why THC is intoxicating. CBD acts on a range of receptors in the body. By contrast, there are no known intoxicating effects of CBD.

While THC can cause a feeling of intoxication or being “high”, memory loss, slowed response times, and issues with coordination resulting in an impaired ability to drive, CBD alone is not known to cause any of these side effects. Young people under the age of 25 may also experience negative psychiatric, cognitive, or other effects from THC because their brains are still developing(1). Elderly patients frequently have various conditions that impact coordination or cognition, both of which may lead to accidents or mishaps when the individual has consumed THC. That is why we believe having a THC-free* CBD option such as Cortalex™ is so important.
